Tabletop gaming isn’t just about the dice you roll or the minis you paint. Beneath of the cardboard chits and other fiddly bits, games serve far more reaching purposes than even we, as hobby gamers, often realize. Games are about making stories and building friendships, about being social and being creative. Games foster conversation and have an innate ability for building inclusivity. Games create new thematic experiences, offer up challenging logic puzzles, and can even be used as social commentary of the real world around us. Games entertain, educate, illuminate, and bring people together. But above all, they’re about having fun.
That is why we’ve doing our part to bolster interest in such a fantastic hobby for several years now. We at The Cardboard Republic love participating in the greater conversation and sharing all manner of things from around the gaming world, whether it’s an indie title or the latest hotness. And we have no intention of going anywhere.
This isn’t a complaint – we love what we do – but we’ve come to the realization that if we want to move into new territory, we’re going to need a little financial assistance.
That’s hopefully where you come in. Today, we’re announcing:
Patreon, for those unfamiliar with it, is a site where contributors can donate money to people like us. This allows us to not only keep the lights on but to help expand into new territory, grow our content base, and ultimately, make for a better, richer CR experience. So, if you like what we do here, then we highly encourage you to check us out there, see what we have in store for plans, and consider making a pledge. We’ve even added some incentives to make it worth your while.
If we’re successful with our initial milestones, we have other ideas in the works too, but one step at a time.
And as always, thanks for making all our efforts worth it!
