Weekly News

11/21/13

New Games:

Shadowrun: Crossfire is a deck-building game based on Shadowrun and put out by Catalyst Game Labs. (via Meople Magazine)

Expansions:

What is Fantasy Flight up to this week? They’ve actually been pretty quiet. Just one little expansion for Mansions of Madness.

Crowdfunding Corner:

The Heat! [emphasis theirs] is an expansion for Police Precinct, which was on Kickstarter in 2012.

Billed as a family-friendly blend of Magic: The Gathering and Uno, Wands looks like an interesting card battle game to play with people who might not otherwise want to play a card battle game.

I like tea almost as much as I like games, which is why I’m intrigued by Elevenses. It’s billed as a micro game a la Love Letter.

I’m a sucker for a well-designed KS page. Also, Pirates

…And Privateers.

And a sequel to Roll Through the Ages. The Iron Age lets you build an Iron Age civilization and the Kickstarter has already succeeded.

A lot of people are talking about Zeppeldrome, the airship racing game. That includes us! Expect our preview of it up in a few days.

The Tarot of Loka is a family card game inspired by medieval tarot decks.

Sick of playing the hero? In Pillage, you get to play a group of goblins, kobolds, ogres, or orcs.

WWII: The Card Game is . . . well, exactly what it sounds like. This ECG makes you pick a side and dig in to the fight.

Pandante, on the other hand, is a modified poker game based on pandas. Unsurprisingly, this KS page is very cute.

You know what’s not cute, though? This Dark Legends RPG. It’s billed as gritty and brutal, in the best way possible.

Throwigames Simple Roleplaying System aims to help players and GMs focus more on the fun parts of roleplaying and less on the rule book.

Heroes – Battle Card Game is billed as a social LCG, and I’m kind of digging the art.

This is possibly the cutest game about strange animals I’ve seen since Havok & Hijinks. Also, it’s about Emu ranching.

Who would win in a fight – President Lincoln or your dad? Clusterfight is a party game that aims to answer that very question.

Ahd how else to wrap up the list? Why with a cooperative steampunk horror game. Yep. Machina Arcana.

Other News:

BGG Con, BoardGameGeek’s annual convention in TX is going on now! We couldn’t make it, unfortunately. Hopefully you’re down there having fun and getting your game on though!
