Howdy partners!
(Honestly, if you didn’t see us starting off with that, you give us too much credit…)
September’s Indie Spotlight game is Deadwood Studios, USA. In this relaunch of a Cheapass Games classic, players venture around a B-movie lot (ok, C-movie lot) looking to advance their acting skills and raise some dough. Will you be the cranky shopkeep? A boisterous saloon gal? The grizzled sheriff? We’ll have to see what the scenes call for!
It’s a game about acting badly, but, really, you don’t even have to do that. It is, however, much more fun that way. In Deadwood Studios, you move around from location to location and try your luck at semi-stardom. It’s designed as a good, light, group game (capable of up to 8), that doesn’t take itself too serious or cross over into party game territory.
So saddle up, because we’re giving away a copy of the game! This Kickstarter debuted at Gen Con 2013, and it’s now available. But since you’re a struggling actor and all, perhaps you should take your chance at getting one free. We can help with that.
We need to make sure you’ve rehearsed though, so the contest involves a wee bit of research in the form of venturing over to the Cheapass Games homepage to find the fairly simple answers. All of them are there for those who hunger for stardom. And free games!
(You’re also welcome to check out our interview with the game’s producer in a Q&A or in our latest podcast, but that’s just for extra credit.)
This contest goes through midnight September 27th, with the winner announced on the 28th. You can check the contest out on our Facebook page, or by entering below. Just follow the entry form, and proceed with the contest. The more you do, even if just one, you still have a better chance than not entering at all. Of course you’re welcome to do that too. But your odds of winning drop to zero. No pressure or anything.
